The Wood Duck is one of the few species of Ducks that can perch, using the claws on their webbed feet to grab onto branches. Wood Ducks typically make their nests in hollowed out trees, but recently are being threatened by the development of the swamps and forests that make up their habitat. By constructing and installing these Wood Duck Houses as alternative nesting locations, we are upholding the mission of the WCFP and Outdoor Code in preserving nature.
